Good to Know About Carpet Flooring
What’s the difference between plush and textured carpet?
Plush carpet has a smooth, even cut pile that creates a formal, elegant look, which is ideal for low-traffic areas like guest rooms or master bedrooms. Textured carpet features a twisted pile that’s more forgiving in busy households, hiding footprints and everyday wear. Our showroom team can walk you through both and help you decide what’s right for your space.
How do you clean a carpet?
We recommend vacuuming high-traffic areas weekly and blot spills immediately.
For deeper cleaning, hot water extraction (steam cleaning) works well for most residential carpets. Always follow the manufacturer’s care guidelines. Our team at Viva Floors & More can recommend the best maintenance routine for whichever style you select.
How do you get rid of carpet beetles?
Vacuum thoroughly along baseboards and under furniture, then dispose of the bag immediately.
You can also wash affected fabric items in hot water and apply a carpet beetle-specific insecticide if needed. For persistent infestations, a licensed pest control professional is your best option. Regular vacuuming is the most effective long-term prevention.
