Waterproof Flooring FAQ
Is luxury vinyl the same as waterproof flooring?
Most luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) sold today is waterproof, so the terms are often used interchangeably. Waterproof flooring also includes the newest hybrid laminates. We carry all three types: SPC, WPC and hybrid waterproof laminate.
What is the difference between SPC and WPC?
SPC (stone plastic composite) has a dense, rigid stone-composite core that resists dents and stays stable. WPC (wood plastic composite) has a thicker, softer core that feels warmer and quieter underfoot. Both are waterproof.
Can I install waterproof flooring in kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. Kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and mudrooms are some of the most popular places for it. Proper installation and finishing at the edges keep water from getting underneath.
Is waterproof flooring good for pets and kids?
Yes. Scratch-resistant wear layers and easy cleanup make it one of the best choices for busy families. Ask us about collections with thicker wear layers for extra protection.
Can waterproof flooring go over my existing tile?
In many cases, yes, as long as the existing floor is flat and in good condition. We check this during your free estimate.
